Cops: Uninsured, Unregistered Mattituck Man Drove Drunk

The driver was heading east on Route 48 in Cutchogue when he was found to be intoxicated, police said.

An intoxicated Mattituck man was busted on Wednesday after he was caught driving an unregistered, uninsured truck that had an expired inspection sticker, police said.

According to Southold Town police, Craig Durland, 40, was driving eastbound in his truck at 11:35 a.m. on Route 48 in Cutchogue when he was pulled over for an expired inspection sticker.   

Further investigation found him to be intoxicated, police said.

He was arrested, transported to Southold Town Police Headquarters, processed, and held until his arraignment in the morning, police said.
