Cops: Two Injured in Greenport Car Accident

One driver failed to yield the right of way, police said.

Two were sent to the hospital Saturday after a car accident in Greenport.

Police said an accident occurred at 3:20 p.m. on Route 25 and Manhasset Avenue in the village.

Rifeng Shen, 61, of College Point was heading west on Route 25 and made a left turn onto Manhasset Avenue, failing to yield the right of way to Frances Ketcham, 78, of East Marion, police said.

Ketcham was driving eastbound on Route 25 when Shen's vehicle struck hers, police said; Greenport Fire Department Rescue and East Marion Fire Department Rescue responded and brought both drivers to Eastern Long Island Hospital for treatment.
