Cops: Southold Man Cuffed for DWI, Criminal Possession Of Controlled Substance
The driver was stopped for failing to maintain his lane, police said.
A Southold man who was cuffed for driving while intoxicated was also found with drugs early Thursday, police said.
According to Southold Town police, Spiro C. Beletsis, 53, was arrested on Route 48 and Lipco Road in Southold at 5:50 a.m. after police said he was seen failing to maintain his lane while heading east.
Beletsis was stopped and found to be intoxicated, police said. He was charged with DWI and criminal possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors, before being taken to Southold police headquarters for processing and arraignment.
