• Southold Police arrested a Ridge teenager after they said he was caught smoking marijuana by the Greenport Railroad Museum after fleeing police. According to police, the 16-year-old male was sitting on the deck of the museum with another teenager around 6:30 p.m. when they were approached by police and subsequently ran. Cops said the boy was caught with a glass marijuana pipe, and admitted to leaving marijuana back at the museum. He was arrested and given a field appearance ticket.
• A 43-year-old Greenport man was arrested on Aug. 19 on DWI charges after cops said he was driving drunk on New Suffolk Avenue. According to police, Emiliano Pineda Jiminez was arrested after police pulled him over driving a gold van after not maintaining his lane. Police said he proceeded to fail several roadside sobriety tests. He was processed and held for arraignment.
• Manuel Arriaza, 36, of Riverhead was arrested on Aug. 15 and charged with DWI after Southold Police said someone tipped them off to a drunk driver leaving a home. Cops said an anonymous caller alerted police to an intoxicated person leaving a home in the Laurel area in a 1996 Toyota Landcruiser. Cops found the car, and Arriaza was reportedly found to be drunk behind the wheel. He was transported to police headquarters, processed and held for a morning arraignment.
