Cops: Mattituck Man Charged With Felony After Drug Bust

A search warrant led to an arrest in Mattituck early Thursday morning.

A Mattituck man was slapped with a felony charge after a search warrant led to a drug bust at his home early Thursday morning.

The East End Drug Task Force, in conjunction with Southold Town police, conducted a search warrant at a home on Old Sound Avenue in Mattituck. Police said the warrant was the result of an investigation into drug sales activity on the North Fork.

The Suffolk County Police Emergency Services Unit, a Southold Police K-9 unit, and New York State K-9 units assisted in serving the warrant.

At the residence, police said they recovered PCP, marijuana, a scale, and cash.

Police arrested Ed Thompson, 43, of Mattituck at 6:55 a.m. on Thursday and charged him with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a felony, criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Thompson was scheduled for arraignment at Southold Town justice court.
