Cops: Man Skips Out on Check in Mattituck, Arrested
The man spent over $130 then left without paying, police said.
A Riverhead man was arrested after police said he took off without paying the tab at a Mattituck pizza place on Saturday.
According to Southold Town police, the man, 50, entered Michalangelo's in Matittuck and ordered $130.35 worth of food, then skipped out without paying the check.
The suspect was located at the Broken Down Valise and returned to Michalangelo's, where he was positively identified by staff, police said.
He was arrested at 11:37 p.m. and charged with theft of services, a misdemeanor, transported to Southold police headquarters for processing, and held for arraignment.
