Cops: Man Driving Company Truck Charged With DWI, Leaving Accident Scene

Police said the man was stopped in Laurel.

A Southold man was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with driving while intoxicated after police said he left the scene of a Riverhead accident while in his company truck.

According to Southold Town police, Brian M. Pressler, 25, was arrested in Laurel on Sunday at 7:59 a.m.

Police said Pressler was involved in a motor vehicle accident in Riverhead and left the scene.

Southold police were told about the incident and located Pressler operating his Braun's Seafood delivery truck eastbound on State Route 25 in Laurel, police said. 

After stopping Pressler, police said an investigation revealed him to be intoxicated.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and issued a citation for  leaving the scene of an accident with property damage by Riverhead police. He was also charged with failure to dim his high beams and tailgating, traffic violations.

Pressler was transported to Southold police headquarters, processed, and held for arraignment.
