Cops: Greenport Bookkeeper Forged Check, Stole $1600 From Job

The woman faces a felony charge.

A Greenport was arrested and charged with a felony after police said she allegedly forged checks and stole $1600 from the Southold business where she was employed as a bookkeeper.

According to Southold Town police, Pamela Reed, 20, of Greenport was arrested on July 5 at 9:55 a.m. at an unnamed Southold business and charged with grand felony grand larceny in the fourth degree, forgery in the second degree and falsifying business records. 

Police said an investigation revealed that while employed as a bookkeeper at the business, Reed forged a business check and falsified business records, stealing $1600. 

She was arrested, processed and arraigned in Southold Town justice court.
