Cops: Drunk Driver Nabbed on Route 25 in Cutchogue

A Riverhead woman was driving with a suspended license, police said.

A Riverhead woman was locked up after police said she was found driving drunk on Route 25 in Cutchogue.

According to Southold Town police, the incident took place on Friday at 9:23 p.m. Raquel Mahon, 44, of Riverhead, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, failure to maintain lane, and driving with a suspended license.

Police were notified by a motorist that there was an erratic driver operating a blue Ford pick up truck on Rt. 25 in Cutchogue, officials said. A police officer located and stopped the vehicle; the driver was identified as Mahon. Mahon was found to be intoxicated and was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was processed and held overnight pending arraignment.
