Cops: Drunk Driver Leaves Scene of Southold Accident
Police said a drunk driver fled the scene of an accident Saturday.
A Riverhead man was charged with driving while intoxicated after police said he left the scene of a car accident in Southold on Saturday.
According to Southold Town police, Thomas Ferrara, 42, of Riverhead was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Route 48 in Southold at 11:02 a.m. but did not stop.
Southold police located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Police said Ferrara was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested, charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, and transported to Southold police headquarters to be processed and held for arraignment.
