A Greenport resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a single-car accident in Southold Thursday night, police said.
According to Southold Town police, Hermogenes Aguilera, 30, of Greenport was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, at 10:43 p.m. Thursday night after being involved in the single-car accident, which occurred on Route 25 in Southold.
Police said upon investigation, Aguilera was found to be intoxicated, arrested, and charged with DWI. Aguilera was transported to Eastern Long Island Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident, and was then transported to Southold Town police headquarters for processing and held for arraignment.
