The North Fork and Shelter Island still have a small town feel in many ways, so Patch was wondering how Patch readers feel about the treatment they receive.

Is customer service dead everywhere? Or is it alive and well in the area?

Funny...I had the exact same experience. But, I'm counting on a small town butcher to listen when I say "please slice it super thin" next time. I didn't say it the first time, as I didn't think I had to, but I guess I did. I will say the cheese shop in Mattituck has super nice folks behind the counter, and the folks at Winemaker's Studio are lovely as well.

I can't let this go by without expressing my extreme satisfaction to the people at town hall. The staff in the Village Clerks office are outstanding, always coming to the counter as soon as someone is looking for help and handles businees quickly and efficiently. The same is true in the tax receivers office. Great service. Thanks

You name the NorthFork business and the service is wonderful. Wayside, IGA, Strong's, Cutchogue Deli, Prestons, Legends, NF Table, The Loft, Krupski Farms, Lenz, POE, Polywada, Greenport Brewery, Harts, and I can go on and on. Shop local!!

Although I haven't been a customer for a while, but I must agree with John that all of the employees, as well as the Mullens themselves, gave me the best in customer service. I was always amazed that I could walk into the service department and be recognized and addressed by name. Amazing! I, too, wish them the best in the New Year.

I second Dave's comments about town hall. They are a great bunch of folks!
