Compassion and Caring...Mattituck/Laurel Veterinary Hospital

I wanted to briefly share my story and say thank you to Dr. Beth Dunbar and the wonderful staff at the Mattituck/Laurel Veterinary Hospital.
Over the years,  I  have been fortunate enough to have shared my life with many incredible creatures. However, as most of us know, the time eventually comes when we need to say that final farewell to our four-legged companions. This goodbye is always bittersweet and at so many times, completely unexpected.
My beautiful dog Daisy become ill recently, and I had to make that dreaded choice between relieving her pain through traumatic measures or to end her life quietly and peacefully in my arms. Although making this decision is traumatic in itself, I am thankful that I had the opportunity to make that decision. For in the best interest of my little Doodle Girl. I decided to end her suffering and not to prolong her life by creating more pain and more trauma.
Dr. Dunbar and her staff were kind, caring and empathetic to not only Daisy's pain, but understanding of the position I was in.
Sadly, I have had to make this choice before, but I have never done so without a partner to share in the decision, or to share that final goodbye.
Dr. Dunbar and her staff helped me to get through this difficult time with understanding, compassion and true sensitivity.  We are blessed to have such wonderful and compassionate people in our community and looking after our pets.
