Funeral Services for Ronan Guyer Take Place Monday, Tuesday in Mattituck

DeFreist Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck to hold services for Southold teen.

The family of Ronan Guyer announced Thursday on Facebook that funeral services for the Southold High School freshman who died Wednesday evening will take place Monday and Tuesday at DeFriest Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck, with visiting hours from 4 to 8 p.m.

Ronan survived five days in a medically induced coma at the Womens and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo after being revived from a cardiac arrest he suffered this past Friday during a warm-up before the New York State Public High School Athletic Association cross country championships in Elma.

Ronan was an active sailor. His parents request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House or the Peconic Gardiners Junior Sailing Association. This is a not for profit organization that promotes junior sailing on the East End of Long Island. Please make checks payable to the PGJSA care of Ronan Guyer. The address is:
