Real Estate Logos

Recognize some of these logos?

One of the most recognizable symbols is the beautiful and reassuring compass rose. A compass rose is a design on a map that shows directions. It shows north, south, east, west, northeast, northwest, southeast, and southwest. (Scroll all images to the right).

The “compass rose” has appeared on charts and maps as a design representing compass directions from the 14th century. The term “rose” comes from the emblem’s resemblance to the petals of a rose flower. We chose this ancient symbol for our logo because it is a guide or a navigational instrument used for finding the way home. We liked the compass rose’s nautical feel and the romantic lure of finding treasured places, safe harbors and home, it was the perfect fit for our company, NFR*Einc.

Another symbol you may see in  real estate, is the widely recognized National Association of Realtors, Realtor symbol. NAR holds that Realtors pledge themselves to abide by a strict code of ethics. The code of ethics protects all parties in a real estate transaction. We must deal honestly, ethically and not discriminate. In addition, Realtors may not make false or misleading statements about other real estate professional or their businesses. NFR*E agents are proud to be REALTORS(R).

Another symbol covers the Fair Housing Act and protected classesTitle VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 (Fair Housing Act), as amended, prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental, and financing of dwellings, and in other housing-related transactions, based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status (including children under the age of 18 living with parents or legal custodians, pregnant women, and people securing custody of children under the age of 18), and disability.

Now let’s not be so boring,  lets see how some other symbols fit in with our North Fork Real Estate Blog.

Ancient symbols, such as the Spiral, adorned the humble caves of our prehistoric ancestors. The triple spiral is one of the main symbols of the Celts often standing for the “three realms” – Land, Sea and Sky. I think it’s not so unlike our own North Fork homes, adorned with beautiful paintings of the bay, a shimmering sunset or a tranquil blue sky.  For centuries, man has adorned their homes with artwork from primitive symbols, such as the spiral, to the beautiful mosaics unearthed in Pompeii.  Stop in and see our display of local artists’ renditions of the North Fork’s  Land, Sea and Sky.  Look for our upcoming art show featuring the works of Pat Conklin, Janine Harrigan, Kathy Izzo, Will Paulson and Tom Monaster.

The Distlefink was the good luck bird of the Pennsylvania Germans.  It is a stylized version of the finch.  The goldfinch eats thistle and use’s the thistle down for it’s nest.  Since a nest is a home it has become a colorful plaque of welcoming that grace  many homes, front porches and barns.  Many of our current listings have these design elements on display.  They blend nicely with the North Fork’s nautical or beach style.

A symbol is today’s logo and we believe that a logo should speak to who and what you are.  Or more importantly what you do.  Frank Lloyd Wrights windows are a stamp or a trademark of his architectural genius, no words are needed to describe whose designs these are.

As you can see, we invested a lot of time and resources to find our masterpiece, the compass rose.  We would like to thank our logo designer, North Fork Creative, Darcy Cochran.

Our goal is for JUST THAT same recognition when our signs are placed on homes across the North Fork.    Next time you see our orange compass rose, You’ll know what we do and how we do it.  LET US GUIDE YOU HOME.
