How the Smart Phone is Improving North Fork Real Estate: Texting

It is amazing to see how the Smart Phone has improved the real estate business on the North Fork. Take texting for example.

It is amazing to see how the Smart Phone has improved the real estate business on the North Fork. Take texting for example.

  • New Customer Inquiries- The real estate websites feature all of the homes for sale on the North Fork. As the buyers find a home that interest them, they can click a button on the website and it shows up on the agents cell phone within moments. This has made it easier for the agents to respond as they are moving through the daily tasks.
  • Scheduling appointments between agents- The communications between agents has changed dramatically. Many of the agents are able to schedule and adjust appointments, arrange for keys and update on completed showings by text. All of this is happening in the background while the agents are busy with other customers. Keeps the conversation focused on the people in front of you! How appropriate is that? Service moving to the next level.
  • Updating- Often the home owners prefer text updates on simple tasks. Can I show your home Sunday at 3 p.m.?  We just finished the showing and you can come back home.  Do you want to host an open house Saturday at 2 p.m.?  Buyers loved your home, will call you later with the details.

Text messages have enabled the agents to complete more in less time. The weekends are very busy with home buyers. In those two days of the week the agents are fielding open house appointments, scheduled showings of targeted homes, last minute requests from buyers and agents working with buyers who are adding houses to the home tours. Many of the buyers are arriving from the New York City metro area and are trying to maximize the time they are on the North Fork house hunting. Texting allows for a professional and efficient means for scheduling these tasks. This is just one tool in the agents tool box of communication options in the workplace. Makes you wonder, how did we do all of this five years ago?  And in this distance... ding.....
