North Fork-based Model/Blogger Escorts Tampa Fan to Prom

Every girl dreams of being taken to prom by her celebrity crush.  MaKayla Muir, 16, from Tampa, Florida, was able to see that dream come true.

Model/blogger Tanner Zagarino, a Los Angeles native who is currently based on the North Fork, flew to Tampa on June 13 to escort MaKayla to prom and later to the Disney theme parks.

MaKayla and Tanner showed up to the prom, which was sponsored by the Cancer Care Center in Tampa, in a rented 2014 Chevy Camaro convertible and the next day visited Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.

“My weekend with Tanner was a fun-filled weekend I will never forget,” MaKayla said.

MaKayla, who is battling alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer, in addition to Crohn’s disease and kidney disease, became smitten with Zagarino after finding him on Instagram. She respectfully asked his mom if he could be her prom date.

“MaKayla, being a girl that follows her dreams, reached out to Tanner’s mother and myself to ask if Tanner could attend prom with her,” Tanner’s manager, Kyle Santillo said. “When Tanner’s mother asked him if he would be willing to attend, he, with open arms, said yes.”

“We had an amazing night dancing, and talking about life,” wrote Tanner on his blog. “It felt as if we knew each other forever.”
