This 30-mile ride and 5k walk raises funds to benefit soldiers wounded in battle. This year's event is in memory of Shelter Island's 1st Lt Joe Theinert.Registration begins at 7 a.m. and closes at 8:30 a.m. The opening ceremony with local officials starts at 9 a.m. The cyclists begin the ride at 9:30 a.m. and the walkers begin the 5k at 9:45 a.m.The event ends at the Polo Grounds in Greenport with a BBQ for participants.
