Spotlight Theatre Group presents "It's A Wonderful Life!" under the direction of the Spotlight's Co-founders, Kim Galway and Darby Moore.
Ms. Galway is a theatre educator, registered drama therapist, and licensed creative arts therapist with over 15 years of experience. She has performed off-Broadway and in film and television. From 1997 to 2002 she directed Goddard Riverside Community Center’s outpatient psychiatric rehabilitation program. Among many other credits, she also taught Drama Therapy and Developmental Psychology at the New School University.
Ms. Moore received a BA in theatre from Vassar College and an MA in drama therapy from NYU, where she subsequently served as an associate clinical professor of drama therapy for six years. Her extensive resume includes 25 years of work with young people in school and clinical settings in Harlem and the South Bronx as a drama therapist before moving to the North Fork, where she runs a private practice in creative arts therapy and works at Eastern Long Island Hospital in behavioral health.
The fall program, “Acting for the Theatre,” began in September and offered a full immersion into acting technique. The senior group (ages 11-16) prepared this production of “It’s a Wonderful Life,” the stage version of the American film classic. The junior group (ages 8-10) performs alongside their senior counterparts in the ensemble.
