Spring migration is evident everywhere in the northeastern United States this time of year. Just about every natural habitat is teeming with birds, here to feed or establish territory for nesting sites. Frank’s Birding for Beginners has been developed as a way to encourage new birders to take part in this healthy, outdoor pursuit. This, the first of his three-part spring birding programs, takes place on the North Fork of Long Island, and is the first program held jointly by SoFo and North Fork Audubon. The walk will focus on the field marks and behaviors of birds of the grasslands and shoreline habitats. Bring your binoculars, a scope, and a field guide to Birds of Eastern North America, if you have one. Binoculars will be provided for those who do not own them. For adults, and children 12 and up. Register with SoFo.
