What's the Most Fun Thing You've Done Without Power?

Spoiled food and cold showers? Not fun. Monopoly and looking at the stars? More fun.

We've heard stories over the past few days about people being unhappy that power has not been restored to their homes in the wake of Tropical Storm Irene.

What's been lost in the discussion is stories of people having positive experiences without power. Is that an oxymoron, or have people had some fun?

We're curious what fun you've had without power. Board games with the family? Clearing your mind lying on the lawn, looking at the stars? Let us know some of the positive things you've experienced by losing power.

Disclaimer: The writer of this question did NOT lose power. However he kind of wanted to, for just a little while at least, to take a step back in time.

I enrolled at the library, got two great books, and read into the wee hours of the morning with my magnalite flashlight, something I haven't had the time to do in years! Also, walked the beach with my dog, and collected some awesome scallop shells1
