Weekend Planner: Hospital Gala, New Suffolk 5K, Mattituck Antiques
Support your community at several different events this weekend.
From an elaborate fundraiser for the hospital to a concert for a famous composer in Cutchogue, take your pick on how you want to support your community this weekend.
1. holds their annual summer fundraiser in the form of a chic outdoor gala on Shelter Island on Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m. The party will be held on private grounds overlooking Dering Harbor and will feature performances from an a cappella group called and classical music from the award-winning Bryant Park Quartet later in the evening.
2. Cutchogue villagers will once again pay tribute to a native son Saturday evening with a tribute concert to composer Douglas Moore, a musician who wrote classical American folk along the lines of Aaron Copeland in the first half of the last century. A picnic starts at 5 p.m. and music begins at 7:30 p.m. on the Cutchogue Village Green. The concert is sponsored by the

3. Speaking of history, the holds its 30th annual antique show on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Admission is $5. Call 207-939-7656 for more information.
4. The 5K is one of the most scenic races on Long Island, and it happens this year Saturday morning. Day-of-race registration is 7:30-8:30 a.m. and will be hosting pre-race Zumba and a massage chair for runners. The race starts at 9 a.m. All proceeds go to maintain and improve the New Suffolk Waterfront property. Kayak rentals also available next door at Captain Marty’s.

5.in Jamesport is hosting a cocktail party followed by a field-to-plate dinner from 4-7:30 p.m. on Sunday in support of the a new school that recently launched in Riverhead. For more information go to northforked.org or call 631-397-0298.
