Watch: Local Talent Loses Locks For Charity

Southold resident Tess Leavay sacrifices her hair for a good cause.

Local theater-goers know Southold resident Tess Leavay as a talent who lights up the stage at the North Fork Community Theatre with her spirit and vocal prowess.

But Leavay also wows with her giving spirit: Recently, on April 4, Leavay decided to shave her head for  St. Baldrick's Day and raised over $250 in less than an hour to help benefit children with cancer. While her locks were shorn, Leavay sang "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Misérables with her a cappella group, The Golden Notes, at The College of Saint Rose in Albany.
