Dec. 3: Tree Lightings, Basketball and a Snow Ball

Christmas festivities are in full swing on the North Fork.

Kick off your weekend today by giving blood, attending one of two tree lightings, watching some early high school basketball, or partying for a cause with the crew from Eastern Long Island Hospital on Love Lane in Mattituck tonight.

1. Give blood today from 2:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the in Peconic. Call 631-477-1273 to make an appointment.

2. Tonight offers two tree lightings — one sponsored by the at the village gazebo in Southold at 6 p.m. and another at at 6:30 p.m. Santa and carolers will be on hand at both events.

3. Catch some early high schooltonight as the take on Centereach at 6 p.m. and the at 7:30 p.m. at the high school gymnasium.

5. Support by attending a in Mattituck tonight sponsored by TWIGS, a local group of volunteers similar to an auxiliary group. The fundraiser will take place at 6 p.m. under a tent on Love Lane, which will be shut down to traffic during the event. Call 631-477-5164 for more information.
