An annual favorite, the Greenport Fire Department's 168th annual Washington Birthday Parade takes place Saturday at 1 p.m.
The parade route begins at the Greenport School on Front Street, then will head left to Main Street, proceeding to Center Street with a left on First Street and a right on South Street to its final destination at the Greenport Fire Department Headquarters on Third Street.
The event is always packed with cheering crowds -- as young and old honor emergency responers from near and far.
