PHOTOS: Hashamomuck Cove Pummeled By Waves

The Long Island Sound remains relentless on Southold residential shoreline.

Southold resident Lynn Laskos sent us these pictures of waves from the Long Island Sound pounding the shoreline at the damage-prone Hashamomuck Cove neighborhood in Southold

"As you all are sleeping, it is 12:24 am on October 15, 2011, Hashamomuck Cove in Southold is under attack from the Long Island sound," she wrote. "We have no storm, we have no wind, but we have 6-foot waves absolutely pounding our bulkheads."

As the head of Hashamomuck Cove Group, Laskos continues to lobby for repair to the shoreline, which is only feet away from Route 48 — one of two main roadways through the North Fork.
