NY Cork Report: Peconic Bay Winery Harvests Chard For Sparkling Wine

Cutchogue winery harvests grapes for third year of sparkling wine production.

The 2011 North Fork grape harvest is on.

Workers at Cutchogue's Peconic Bay Winery harvested about 3.5 tons of chardonnay grapes this past Friday morning from their Oregon Road vineyard — all intended for sparkling wine.

The grapes looked great for a third harvest of sparkling production, according to winemaker Greg Gove.
