May 12: 'Oklahoma!,' Toddler Time, Boating 101

Thursday is a day for bringing up babies and learning boating safety.

"Oklahoma!" premieres in Mattituck and boaters can learn to be safer on Thursday.

1. , 12700 Sound Avenue in Mattituck, presents Rodgers & Hammerstein's musical "Oklahoma!" at 8 p.m. Thursday is opening night for the classic musical, which runs through May 28. Go to http://www.NFCT.com for more information.

2. , 141 East Main Street in Riverhead, holds a home-school art class today at 9:30 a.m. Liz Vaiana-Cavanagh teaches the class for homeschooled children ages 5-9, which focuses on 2-D and 3-D art. Call 631-369-2171.

3. It's toddler time at , 539 1st Street in Greenport, at 10 a.m. This playtime is for a toddler and a caregiver. Registration is not required. Call 631-477-0660.

4. , 920 Peconic Lane in Peconic, holds a boater safety course at 7:30 p.m. The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 18-8 will teach this eight-week boating safety course. Participants will learn Coast Guard-approved boat handling, navigation, boating emergencies, personal watercraft, legal and safety requirements, marine radio, and water sports. Call 631-765-1800.
