LIPA: Power Outage Update for the North Fork; Causeway Reopens

Much of the North Fork still out of power late Sunday afternoon.

Thousands are still out of power on the North Fork as of about 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to numbers from the Long Island Power Authority's website.

Still without power included:
Laurel: 443 out of 911
Mattituck: 2,360 out of 2,900
Southold: 4,022 out of 4,570
Greenport: 975 out of 1206
Orient: 1,429 out of 1,790
Shelter Island Heights: 15 out of 43

East Marion, New Suffolk and the bulk of Shelter Island were not reported.

Power throughout the Greenport Village was out around 2:30 p.m., Mayor David Nyce said later in the afternoon that power is being restored section by section.

Love Lane in Mattituck has power but all businesses are closed. Many residential areas are still without power due to trees and powerlines.

The East Marion-Orient Causeway has reopened after a short close due to flooding this afternoon.
