Kid's Planner: Chinese New Year, PTA Night and a Parade

Celebrate the birth of our nation's first President at a wintery parade or learn how to count our feathered friends for Cornell.

Ready for the first few days of winter break? Try a family fun night, a parade, or learn how to count birds.  

Where/When: Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Mattituck Laurel Library.

Why Go: It’s a great way for children in grades 2-4 to learn about other cultures in a fun, respectful atmosphere.

Where/When: Friday night from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Greenport School.

Why Go: Bring the kids out for a family friendly fun night. Children and adults will participate in fun games, enjoy a picnic dinner, and enjoy a family friendly movie. It’s a great way to kick off winter break.

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: Friday night from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Depot Lane in Cutchgoue.

Why Go: Do you really need an excuse to get out of the house with the family on a Friday night? Enjoy meatloaf with friends and family.

Pricing: $15 for an adult or 2 for $25/ children are $10

Where/When: Starts at 1 p.m. in Greenport Village.

Why Go: Get out of the house and take the family out in the chilly weather to cheer on your favorite marchers. There’s always a big turnout for this Greenport tradition.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Inlet County Park in Greenport.

Why Go: Learn how to help the North Fork Audubon Society and Cornell count local bird populations and bring home a birdfeeder.
