June 28: Lobster Bake, Ghosts and Cemeteries, July 4th Happenings

Indulge in some fresh lobster in Greenport and listen to a lecture on local hauntings in Mattituck on Tuesday.

Tuesday means you're all recovered from this past weekend and are ready to make plans for some unique July 4th celebrations coming up over a lobster dinner at the North Fork Oyster Company in Greenport.

1. 300 Main Street in Greenport, will feature a Long Island lobster bake every Monday and Tuesday evening throughout the summer from 6 to 9 p.m. The four-course meal includes  soup, family-style house salad, family-style lobster bake (lobster, clams, mussels), baby potatoes, local corn, a house-made dessert and a complimentary glass of white sangria. 2. Don't be afraid of our local ghosts — learn all about the otherworldly who roam among us at a lecture at , 18200 Route 25 in Mattituck, at 7 p.m. will present an illustrated talk on cemeteries and ghosts. This program is free at the New Egypt Schoolhouse on the museum grounds. 350 Yaphank Avenue in Yaphank, is still open to the public for weekly tours  on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The display is part of the Suffolk County Farm and Education Center in Yaphank.Walk into a local butterfly habitat and interact with the beautiful creatures.
