June 13: Noisy House, Yarn Club, Huge Weekend

Monday offers an opportunity to throw yarn with your friends and plan for one of the biggest weekends on the North Fork.

Get back in the work-a-day swing with these events and get ready for a huge upcoming weekend on the North Fork.

, 27550 Route 25 in Cutchogue, features storytime with a reading of "The Noisy House" (hopefully it's not your autobiography) at 10 a.m. The session is ideal for 2- and 3-year-olds. Call 631-734-6360.

2. Just say YES at , 539 First Street in Greenport, at 4 p.m. YES is a community service program geared toward helping teens plan and implement various projects to improve the community. Call 631-477-0660.

3. Grab your yarn and hooky things and head to the , 13900 Route 25 in Mattituck, at 6 p.m. for a weekly session of yarn throwing. All are welcome. No fee or registration required. Call 631-298-4134.

4. Members of the Board will meet at the school at 33 North Ferry Road on Shelter Island at 7 p.m. for a monthly school board meeting. Call 631-749-0302.

5. Speaking of Shelter Island, you have only a few more days to get your butt off the couch and train for thecoming up this Saturday. It's the biggest community race of the year, drawing dozens of elite international runners, and it's only one cool thing to do this weekend with infiltrating Mattituck and and blues legend Johnny Winter coming to in Cutchogue on Sunday. Whew -- aren't you tired already? Oh, and don't forget about Father's Day...
