July 13: Summer Concert, Hula Hooping, Speakeasy Dinner

Wednesday brings you another summer concert in downtown Southold and a class on hula-hoop fitness.

2. Get fit this summer by hula hooping with the kids. A class at 9:30 a.m. at the , 920 Peconic Lane in Peconic, is meant for hula-hooping beginners. It is a great low impact way to tone up and get into shape. Call 632-765-5182.

3. The Southold Historical Society hosts its summer exhibition, A Quarter Century of Embroidery, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the , 54325 Route 25 in Southold (Museum Complex, corner of Maple Lane). The exhibition, which will feature several dozen examples of the art, is being held in cooperation with the Peconic Bay Chapter of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America. Call 631-765-5500.

4. Take a walk around a historic neighborhood in Southold with Melissa Andruski starting at 6 p.m. at the , 53705 Route 25 in Southold. The event will be cancelled if it rains. Registration is not necessary. Call 631-765-2077.

5. Stop by Claudio's for dinner and a show upstairs at the Speakeasy on Wednesday evenings this summer, featuring the Park Avenue Gypsies, jazz and comedy. Tickets are on sale. Call 631-477-0627.
