July 1: Boats and Brothers, Jazz and Sushi, NoFo Vs. Riverhead

Kick off July 4th weekend the right way with live music, sushi and some backyard baseball.

You’re not going to know what to do with yourself by the time you get out of work on Friday — there are so many cool things to do on the North Fork to start the long and patriotic weekend.

1. , 53345 Route 25 in Southold, presents the music of Ron Rothman and Southold Slim at 5:30 p.m. Ron and Joe will be performing their own brand of Tin Pan Alley jazz, blues and swing in a relaxed atmosphere. Call 631-765-5055 or go to rothguitar.com.

2. , 51655 Route 25 in Southold, will show "Madagascar" on an at 7 p.m. to support the Southold American Legion renovations. Tickets will be available at the door. Refreshments and other goodies will be available. Bring lawn chairs and beach blankets.

will feature "Of Boats and Brothers: the Yacht Building Herreshoffs" as part of its Friday Night movie series at 7 p.m. This movie will feature a talk by director Tom Garber and is part of the Historic H Class celebration that will be ongoing through July 16. 

4. Indulge in some at D'Latte's on Friday evenings with Dennis Raffelock and Lou Messana, plus open mic, at 7 p.m. is located at 218 Main Street in Greenport.

5. The Riverhead Tom Cats take on the North Fork Ospreys at 7 p.m. at Jean W.Cochran Park in Peconic. Don't miss it a minute of Hamptons Collegiate Baseball.
