Jan. 11: Snow, Gingerbread and Painting

Local libraries offer painting and gingerbread-making classes today.

Before the ground is , take advantage of these five activities today on the North Fork:

1. Learn to be a better pet owner today at a workshop sponsored by the American Kennel Club at 6 p.m. at theThe class will focus on greeting dogs and health and safety tips. The session is free. Call 631-734-6360.

3. North Fork schools are bustling today with basketball games — if they’re not canceled because of the pending snow storm play Shelter Island at at 6 p.m., thewill face Southold at at 6:15 p.m., and the Greenport boys’ basketball team will take on Port Jefferson at at 6:15 p.m. Stay tuned to North Fork Patch for any cancellations.

4. Take your young children to the Cutchogue New Suffolk Free Library tonight to decorate and eat and read gingerbread stories at 6:30 p.m. Call 631-734-6360.
