As the temperature starts to fall a little bit and summer season falls further in the rear view, events and things to do on the East End continue to roll on. This weekend's lineup includes the popular Harborfest in Sag Harbor on the South Fork, and the North Fork's Greenfest and older celebration of heritage, the Hallockville Fall Festival.

Entire East End
And going on all across the East End, as part of the 27th International Coastal Clean-Up, at least 15 beach clean-ups are scheduled on Saturday across the East End, a small part of over 5,000 taking place across the planet. Visit the Ocean Conservency's website to find the closest one near you.
Greenport
: Friday night at 7:30 p.m., the North Fork Audubon Society will host a talk about Long Island's National Wildlife Refuge Complex, which is comprised of 6,500 acres across 10 different locations. The armchair tour is free and will be held at the organization's headquarters on Sound Avenue in Greenport. Arrive at 7 p.m. for coffee and conversation.
Shelter Island
: Writers - including Sachem Patch editor Matthew McGevna - and the editor of Long Island Noir, a collection of short stories focused on the darker side of the Island, will be on hand at on Friday night at 7 p.m. to discuss the book and sign copies.
Mattituck
: Even featuring a l and audio, the East End Greenfest will feature the best of what the East End's environmentally-friendly have to offer. The festival also welcomes a carnival powered by biodiesel this year, as well as its regular vendors, food and live music. Runs Friday through Sunday, for specific hours and cost of admission.
: After a run earlier this year at in Greenport, the cast and crew of the play will revive their local production beginning this Friday at 8 p.m. at the in Mattituck. “‘night, Mother,” features Jere Jacobs and Amie Sponza in a powerful production about a mother trying to convince her suicidal daughter that life is worth living.
Aquebogue
: , a non-profit special education pre-school in Aquebogue, is hosting its 16th annual Classic and Sports Car Rally. The cruise starts the school on Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. and ends in Belle Terre, with meals provided at both ends. Cost is $150 is paid by Sept. 14 or $175 on the day of the drive.
Northville
: It may not techincally be fall for over another week, though the recent temperatures might make it feel like a great time for the 32nd Annual Hallockville Fall Festival. The two-day affair on Sound Avenue will feature vendors, music, animals, and demonstrations of crafts that sometimes seem like they're from another era: basket-weaving, blacksmithing, woodcarving and more. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door.
Riverhead
: Why wait a full year to celebrate St. Patrick's Day? At Long Ireland Beer Company, they celebrate twice a year, once commemorating the fact that the next holiday is only half a year away. Admission is free while food and beer are available for purchase. The event runs from 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and live music will be performed by 26 & 6 and the Long Island Pipe & Drums Band.
Flanders
: Drop by the Big Duck on Route 24 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oldies tunes will be playing, raffles will be drawn and trophies handed out. Cars 25 years and older are welcome to join. People are welcome to come down and see for $5 a head, and cars 25 years and older can come join the fun for $20 on the day of.
Hampton Bays
: The Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation is holding its annual benefit on Saturday at the Boardy Barn from 6 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door and include a buffet dinner.
: The 2nd Annual Over the Bridge run, which will benefit the Hampton Bays Lions Club, will be taking place Saturday morning. Registration starts between 7 and 8:30 a.m., and participants will be bused over to the south side of Ponquogue Bridge. Cost is $25 the day of the run, which include either a 5K or 10K option.
Southampton
: Join the East End Lyme Disease Awareness Campaign at Roger's Farm (1514 Montauk Hwy) for its annual yard and craft sale to benefit the organization. Learn about the group while perusing their selection of donated new and gently used furniture, jewelry, books, household, children's items and more!
: Local author Sally Spanburgh will be speaking at the Rogers Museum Mansion Complex on Saturday at 2 p.m. to discuss her book, "The Southampton Cottages of Gin Lane." Many around since the 1880s, the homes' construction, preservation and more will be the topic of discussion.
Bridgehampton
: Sally Spanburgh is going to be busy on Saturday: from 10 a.m. to noon, she'll also be leading a walking tour of Quimby Lane, the enclave community created by E. E. Quimby at the turn of the 20th century. Hosted by the Bridgehampton Historical Society, the cost of the walk is $5 for members and $10 for non-members.
Sag Harbor
: The annual celebration of Sag Harbor's maritime history starts on Friday and runs through Sunday. There are so many events going on, we've decided to make an
East Hampton
: After raising about $6,000 in 2008 for Barack Obama's presidential campaign, East Hampton residents Joan and Peter Lesser are setting another one up this weekend, this time around benefitting Rep. Tim Bishop as well. Joan says her basement and garage are full. The sale begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
Montauk
: The 8th Annual Block Challenge leaves Montauk bright and early on Saturday morning at 6:30 a.m., as kayakers make the long haul from Montauk to Block Island. The 18-mile open-ocean paddle ends at Champlins Marina on Block Island and a return ferry trip at 5 p.m.
