5 Things: Remember 9/11

The North Fork will have 9/11 memorial events this weekend, and many have personal ties to the tragedy.

This Sunday is the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Remember those who died, mourned and volunteered to help victims at Ground Zero after the World Trade Center towers collapsed.

at Jean Cochran Park in Peconic at 9:50 a.m. Prior to the ceremony, there will be a silent vigil walk starting at the Peconic Recreation Center at 9:30 a.m. Please arrive at 9:15 a.m.

2. Greenport Village remembers 9/11 on Sunday at 4 p.m. at Mitchell Park.
