Three boaters were rescued after a sailboat off Sixth Street Beach in Greenport overturned on Thursday evening, according to chatter on emergency frequencies.
The Southold Town police and a fire department boat responded to the scene, and volunteers with Greenport Rescue evaluated the boaters.
The incident was reported around 5:45 p.m. and the boaters were on shore about 25 minutes later.
