Being Jewish in these difficult times

The past has taught the Jewish people to whisper their names and hide their affiliations.  Now is the time to step out of that personna and grasp on to the proud traditions that have set us Jews apart since the beginning of time.  I AM JEWISH.  This is my new mantra.  The Islamic nations have no difficulty with standing tall, as the Jewish nation girds itself against an onslught of hatred.  As a Jew, I am keenly aware of the hostility that has been foisted upon them throughout the world.  There are only 819 Jews remaining in Norway as you read this letter.  The Muslim community has made it impossible for the few Jews that remain to live in peace and so they leave.  Jewish families in israel are packing up their children and elders and sending them out of the country in preparation for the impending confligration.  The United States has been an ally, although never embracing, but now, with this President, they find themselves alone.  Believe it or not, there are cultures and religions across the globe that vererate the Jews, such as the Chinese and the Koreans as well as the Mormons. 

It is for all free peoples of the world to mentally migrate into the position that allows empathy to this ancient and enduring culture.  To be a proud Jew is no different than being a proud member of the black community, the Italian community, the Irish community or any other "minority".  The greatest barrier to harmony is when the scales tip, favoring one sector of society over any other.

Let your voice be heard with your vote.  You have the power to make the world a better place.  When a person or party suggests pitting one sector of the electorate against another.  The ballot box should show them the door. 

Be strong. Be proud.  Vote with your head not your heart and make this the year that things are made right again.
