Your Thoughts: Businesses Now and Then on the North Fork

Turnover happens normally in a community, but what place do you miss the most?

Businesses have come and gone on the North Fork and Shelter Island through the years – and the slumping economy hasn't helped make things easier.

Recent exits include T, which now stands empty across the street from the, which recently reopened in Greenport.

The topic begs the question: Which store or eatery from the past do you miss the most? Tell us in the comments.

I miss the Arcade of old, circa 2000. I miss Cannery Row, which was a great place for good and cheap food and drinks. I miss Greenport Tea Co at its previous location. And the Irish Shop. And Bay and Main when Kathy and Carol ran it.

I also miss the old Arcade. Who doesn't? Ditto on the Gpt Tea Co. I REALLY miss the ORIGINAL Rhumb Line...Family friendly and you could get fresh fish and not spend a FORTUNE...We don't go out to eat anymore in Gpt. Too expensive..
