WATCH: Alleged Shoplifter Caught on Video
Owner of Verbena retail store in Greenport shared this footage on YouTube of a woman apparently – and elaborately – shoplifting a dress last weekend.
A woman who looks to be cleverly stealing a dress from a rack of Greenport retail store on Main Street is currently the star of a YouTube video.
Verbena's owner Maureen Gonzalez posted the footage this week on YouTube this week in order to help identify the woman. The clip was captured on security video last Saturday evening.
Gonzalez said that after she noticed that the dress was gone while checking inventory the following day, she went through about six hours of footage and found the woman.

"She's pretty talented, I have to say," Gonzales said. "She was in the store for about four minutes when the sales girl was distracted by about a dozen other customers on the other side of the store."
Gonzalez said she filed a police report and has been calling around to other stores nearby, such as DiAngela Leather, to see if their security video reveals the same woman making purchases with a credit card.
