Roanoke Vineyards winemaker Richard Pisacano lead a tour for 14 people Friday night of his new tasting room on Love Lane in Mattituck, a sampling of cheeses and wines at the Village Cheese Shop and dinner at the Love Lane Kitchen.
Rosemary Batcherller, owner of the cheese shop, said that in years past, the tour has also included a visit to the Love Lane Sweet Shoppe and dinner at the Iron Skillet across the tracks on Love Lane.
"It's always a good time," she said."It gives people an opportunity to really learn about all we have to offer here on Love Lane."
Robin Epperson-McCarthy of Roanoke Vineyards said she's like to make the group tour a regular occurence and would like to see the road closed off for a few hours for a festival-like effect for bigger groups.
"We really want to push events like this to market Love Lane," she said.
It's such a great vibe and community feeling at these events by Roanoke and Robin does a fantastic job coordinating with everyone on Love Lane... we hope it gets bigger and more popular.
