Burger Joint, Hispanic Restaurant Opening Soon in Mattituck
Burger and wing joint opening up in old Bahia footprint; meanwhile, Hispanic restaurant fills void left by Bahia down the street.
Coming in early 2012, Mattituck will see a couple of new eateries coming to town.
Replacing next to the Mattituck Cinemas will be Big City Burgers and Atomic Wings — aptly named, a burger and wing joint. Down the street across from Love Lane on the south side of Route 25, a Hispanic food restaurant will be opening up soon as well.
Big City Burgers will be one of about a dozen franchises, most of which are located in New York City. is run by the same owner opening up the Mattituck restaurant.

Manager Anthony Catenzero said he's hoping the exposure next to the movie theater will draw plenty of foot traffic.
"This is a busy center with plenty of exposure," he said. "And for people out here who are familiar with the city, we're well-known in there, which helps."

Hoping to open the first week in January, the restaurant will offer sit-down eating and stand-up space for those eating on the run. Big City Burgers will open without a beer or liquor license, though is in the process of applying for a beer license.
The menu will contain the obvious — burgers and wings — in addition to hot dogs, fries, onion rings, and milkshakes.
Down the street, Marina Racinos is in the , a Hispanic food restaurant across the street from Love Lane.
Building owner Peter Jacques said on Wednesday that he's making requested changes to the parking lot, and, per a State Department of Transportation and Southold Town Planning Department request, left turns will not be permitted out of the parking lot.
The Planning Board waived site-plan approval for the restaurant Monday night, leaving the remainder of the process in the hands of the Building Department. Brian Cummings, a provisional planner with the town, said the majority of alterations were determined to be inside the building as opposed to outside.
