New Businesses to Check Out Memorial Day Weekend 2013

These new businesses came onto the scene since your last Memorial Day trip.

So Memorial Day weekend is finally here and despite the not-so-great forecast, you're ready to kick it off just like in previous years.    

But, wait! The area has welcomed some new businesses to the area since the last Memorial Day celebration. Take a look at some of them here before you get into your normal routines.   

GREENPORT
   

• Keith Luce Purchases North Fork Oyster Co.The chef who left Luce-Hawkins and raised over $50,000 in an online fundraising drive is moving to Greenport, opening four separate businesses in Stirling Square. 
• Gourmet Shop Opens in Greenport"All things great, made in New York State." That's the mantra behind C.J.Gourmet, located at 413 Main Street in Greenport. 
• Hibachi, Sushi Joint Opening on Front Street: Riverhead's Sakura expanded east this year.      

PECONIC
   

• Winemaker's Studio ExpandsAnthony and Sarah Nappa's Winemaker Studio on Peconic Avenue added an adjoining market with fresh New York State, and Italian, products – from cheeses to beer made in the state to pastas and more from Italy.   

CUTCHOGUE
 

• Spa Comes to Cutchogue: Looking for someplace to relax this weekend? Karen Catapano's Adagio is the newest place in town to do so.   

MATTITUCK
 

• New Jewelry Store Brings Glitz to Love LaneGlittzee Gal Creations – a business that started off as a hobby – will offer handmade jewelry.   

JAMESPORT
   

• One-Stop Shop for Homeowners Opening UpPart law office, part real estate office, part contracting office, part lounge.   

SOUTHOLD

Cheesy Charlies Makes Familiar Transition to Pagano's Pizza: Pagano's opened a new site on Route 48, the scene of the former Cheesy Charlie's. Michelangelo's opened on Route 25 at the old Pagano's site.

Pair of Peconic Businesses Move to Southold: A Taste of the North Fork and White Flower Farmhouse are moving east on the North Fork.


RIVERHEAD
   

• New Store Brings 'Chic' DowntownBoutique shop Chic Creations brought fashion downtown over the winter, opening up shop in January. 
• Nail Salon and Spa Comes to Town: Eastern Nails & Spa came to Polish Town near the end of January. 
• Crossfit Comes to Polish Town: Not long after Eastern Nails opened up, Joe Torre (no, not that Joe Torre) opened up the doors to his cross fit gym for fitness buffs 
• Lumber Liquidators Sets up Shop: The flooring company opened up on Kroemer Avenue this spring. 
• Downtown Welcomes Blue Duck Bakery: The bakery, with locations in Southold and Southampton, opened up a third – on East Main Street – over the winter. 
• Papa John's Cuts the Ribbon: Downtown's third pizza shop opened up just in time for Memorial Day weekend, cutting the ribbon on Friday.  
• Village Beverage Moves Up the RoadWading River's beer distributor moved its location, from the corner of Sound Avenue and Route 25A, to Wading River-Manor Road.
