Mattituck BP Gas Station Open 24-7

With Mattituck's BP now open all night, the North Fork is getting more options for 24-hour retail service.

Some people are just night owls by nature. And with Mattituck’s BP Gas station and mini-mart now open 24-7, those owls have another place to go to get stuff in the middle of the night.

On March 15, BP corporate made the decision to keep their Route 25 Mattituck location open all night and day, though station manager Recep Zaim said he isn’t sure if the move is the right one.

“I’m not sure if it’s worth it, but we’ll try it for a few months and see what happens,” he said.

Mattituck’s BP, which used to open at 6 a.m. and close at midnight, now joins the Cutchogue and Jamesport Valero stations as being the only 24-7 retail establishments on the North Fork aside from 7-Elevens located in Cutchogue, Southold and most recently Mattituck.

A clerk at the Peconic BP location on Route 48 said that there were no plans as of yet to keep that station open all night. The Mattituck Hess station is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the Greenport Patriot station is open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. A Patriot station attendant said that he too has heard no talk of staying open 24-7 in the village.
