Mattituck 7-Eleven Owners Shoot for End-of-Month Opening

Verizon trucks work on the corner of Route 25 and Factory Avenue on Tuesday.

Though 7-Eleven locations in Greenport, Cutchogue and Southold will be open all day on Thanksgiving, Mattituck residents on the go will have to wait at least until the end of the month for their coffee and hot dogs .

Mattituck 7-Eleven owner Tony Cocheo said thought he might be able to open on the corner of Route 25 and Factory Avenue in time for Thanksgiving after he But final approval from the town's building department has not yet happened.

"We're just waiting to make sure they have everything they need," said Cocheo, who runs the Southold 7-Eleven with his son, Greg.

Two large deliveries to the store and stocking shelves should take place next week, he said. The construction of the store has been complete for weeks in the removal of a utility pole on the northeast corner of the intersection used by Verizon and Cablevision. Verizon trucks were parked at the Mattituck location on Tuesday.
