Hometown Taxi Offers Free Rides on New Year's Eve

Cab company combats drunk driving.

For the seventh straight year, Hometown Taxi is offering complimentary cab service around the Southold and Greenport area on New Year's Eve to get revelers back home safe and to keep drunk drivers off the road.

Owner Bryan Daparma said his taxi drivers will head to any bar or catering hall in Southold and Greenport to take home anyone who had been drinking on New Year's Eve.

"We will also give people rides back to their cars the next morning," Daparma added. "We want everyone to arrive alive in 2013."

For a ride, call 631-765-8622.
