Greeny's on Shelter Island Becomes Maria's Kitchen

Mexican food, wraps and soups now available at former organic food shop, says Shelter Island Reporter.

Though it’s only been a year since rganic food store opened near downtown Shelter Island, the business has changed hands to become a restaurant featuring Mexican food, according to the

Maria Schultheis has opened Maria’s Kitchen, a few months after Greeny’s owner Jen diPretoro closed her store in January. Scheltheis worked as diPretoro’s assistant at Greeny’s and worked for months as a housecleaner, saving up money to realize her dream of opening a restaurant. The Reporter says that Maria’s features fresh wraps, soups and smoothie drinks as well as a variety of Mexican food.

Maria's Kitchen is located at 55A North Ferry Road on Shelter Island.
