Why Go: Gaming is fun and this casino night benefits , in Cutchogue; easing the guilt often associated with gambling. It features slots, table games, a Chinese auction, food, music and prizes for winners.

Why Go: It’s nice to have a place to go and enjoy wine "after hours,” before heading out to dinner at a local restaurant or to meet up with friends to plan your evening. Live music helps add to the relaxed atmosphere.

Pricing: It’s a winery happy hour, so look for reduced wine prices.

Why Go: Martha Clara has great wine. , in Mattituck, has yummy cheese. Learn how delicious life can be when you marry the two.

Pricing: Tickets are $25 and are available at Martha Clara Vineyards.

Why Go: Caroline Doctorow, one of the East End’s best recording artists, will be performing with her band as well as with former East Hampton town board member and singer/songwriter Job Potter. The cool new art space inside of Rothman's Department Store is also worth a look. The event is taking place in conjunction with an art opening reception for artist Mike Stanko featuring the works used for Caroline Doctorow’s newest CD cover.

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: , 55135 Route 25, Southold, NY 11971; Saturday, February 5, 2011, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Why Go: Steak rocks, and so does the Southold Fire Department. Plus, this fundraiser marks 125 years of service; a reason to celebrate.

Pricing: $25 per plate. Call 765-3385 or stop by the firehouse for tickets.
