From the Archives: October Traffic Backups Cause Concern in 2011

One year ago today, Patch posted a few pictures of a traffic jam that got the community talking.

Sometimes, it only takes five pictures to fire up a community.

Last Oct. 10, Patch posted these pictures of a traffic jam that began as far east as Cedar House on the Sound B&B on Sound Avenue in Mattituck, as motorists attempted to traverse one of two main arteries through the North Fork to points west.

But what was then a haphazard parking plan at the Sound Avenue Harbes Farm complex had now been restructured due to the attention brought by media and subsequent action by the Southold Town Planning Board and the owners of Harbes.

So this year, we ask — how are the roads out there during harvest season this year, not only on Sound Avenue but other places where traffic is heavier? Let us know in the comment boxes below.
